For third sequel year, Dobrich Art Gallery is initiator and host of the “Paper” plein air in partnership with Villa di Poletta hotel and with the financial support of the Municipality of Dobrich.
“Paper” is a theme on which the Art Gallery – Dobrich has been working since 1995. For decades, the gallery actively organizes international plein airs and exhibitions dedicated to the “Paper”, in which have participated artists from 17 countries.
In the present edition that will take place from 31st August till 8th September will participate the following artists: Valentin Assenov – The Huckle, Verzhinia Markarova, Dessi Deneva, Nikolay Todorov, Kaya Cenkulovska, Milena Aldjabari, Pavlina Sarbova, Todor Ovcharov, Yanko Nenov and Yuelai Ruan – China.
The project is titled “The Paper – Home of Memories” and emphasizes on the ability of paper to store stories, to seal emotions and moments. Using the rich possibilities, the abundance of qualities, the modern interpretation and conceptual treatment of the material, the theme of this year’s edition provides unlimited possibilities to the authors in choosing creative approach and techniques to achieve a certain impact of their works.
10 artists will work in front of the visitors’ eyes in the working atmosphere of Dobrich Art Gallery halls, providing an opportunity to follow the entire creative process – from the ideas’ emergence to their visual realization.
The program includes five evening meetings where the participants will present to the public their ideas, projects and artistic experience, views on the arts and the work with paper in particular.
The exhibition of the artworks created during the plein air will be opened on September 7th (Thursday) at 6 p.m. in Dobrich Art Gallery.
