On May 21, 2022 (Saturday) from 17:30 in the art gallery in Balchik opens an exhibition “Stage Poster” by Lyudmil Chekhlarov. The selected 50 exhibits are part of the project of Dobrich Art Gallery to promote the donation made by Prof. Chekhlarov to the gallery at the end of 2021 and is presented simultaneously in the both cities. It reflects the development of the poster art and playbill of the State Satirical Theater “Aleko Konstantinov” – Sofia from the 70s of the XX century to the present day.
Lyudmil Chekhlarov was born in Dobrich. He graduated from the National Academy of Arts majoring in Poster in the course of Prof. Alexander Poplilov. He started working as a poster artist at the State Satirical Theater. Lyudmil Chekhlarov’s posters are provocative, funny or serious, inviting the viewer to enter the theater. He is one of the notable lecturers who for decades have been determining the directions in the development of applied graphics. Together with his colleagues he is the initiator of the triennial of theatrical posters.
The exhibition will be opened by the director of Dobrich Art Gallery Nedko Nedkov and is a part of the Night of Museums in Balchik. Welcome!
