On March 20, 2025 (Thursday), Dobrich Art Gallery opens an exhibition “Graphics” by the professors from the Faculty of Fine Arts at the Veliko Tarnovo University “St. St. Cyril and Methodius” Hristo Kerin and Hristo Naydenov. The two graphic artists are visiting Dobrich for the first time and will present works made in classical intaglio printing techniques. In Hall 2 of the gallery, the audience will be able to see nearly 60 graphics, united by the themes of mythology, music, poetry, history, ancient cultures, presented through the fine balance between the rational and emotional approach in the works design.
Hristo Kerin
Born on 09.03.1966 in Pazardzhik. In 1985 he graduated from the “Tsanko Lavrenov“ Art School – Plovdiv, and in 1992 – from the “St. St. Cyril and Methodius” Veliko Tarnovo University, majoring in Graphics under Assoc. Prof. Ivan Marinov. Since 1993 he is a full-time assistant, and since 2005 he is an associate professor of graphics at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the “St. St. Cyril and Methodius” VTU. He works in the field of graphics and illustration. He has over 40 solo exhibitions and has participated in over 170 international exhibitions, biennials, triennials and competitions for graphics, ex-libris and miniatures in the USA, Canada, Argentina, Mexico, China, Japan, Belgium, France, Spain, Italy, England, Czech Republic, Slovenia, Serbia, Turkey, Macedonia, Russia, Romania, Greece, Bulgaria, Poland, Portugal, Finland, Ukraine, etc. He is the winner of dozens of national and international awards and nominations.
Hristo Naydenov
Born on May 15, 1971 in Gorna Oryahovitsa. In 1999, he graduated from the “St. St. Cyril and Methodius” Veliko Tarnovo University, majoring in Graphics under Prof. Nikola Hadzhitanev. Since 2000, he is a lecturer and chief assistant at the Faculty of Fine Arts at the “St. St. Cyril and Methodius” VTU, Department of Graphics. In 2016, he successfully defended his doctoral degree. He has 6 solo exhibitions and has participated in numerous exhibitions in the country and abroad. Winner of dozens of awards for small graphics and ex-libris. His work is mainly related to the field of small and medium-format graphics, ex-libris and illustration. He uses classic intaglio printing techniques: etching, aquatint, drypoint, vernim and mezzotint.
