An exhibition “Anniversaries” of the Art Gallery – Dobrich opens in Halls 1 and 2 of the Gallery on January 18, 2024. The exposition presents 9 authors with 27 paintings.

The exhibition includes artists born in the first half of the 20th century, whose anniversary we are celebrating this year. You will see the works of artists with a bright individual style and a significant presence in the artistic life of the country, who have an indisputable contribution to the Bulgarian visual arts.

The selected works cover three decades – the 60s, 70s, 80s of the last century – an interesting and complex period in the development of Bulgarian fine arts. Stoyan Venev, Vasil Stoilov, Dilo Dilov, Vasil Valev, Veliko Valchev, Vasil Vichev, Petar Dochev, Nikola M. Daskalov and Tsviatko Dochev are presented with their paintings. The variety of pictorial means of expression reveals authors with established and recognizable artistic style, who inspire generations of talented Bulgarian artists. In two of the gallery’s rooms, art connoisseurs can familiarize themselves with the trends of the period through the work of the artists and learn facts from their biographies.
