HALL 6 Japanese Graphics Collection

The Japanese Graphics collection is formed through purchases from various editions of the International print biennial in Varna, established first in 1981. From the very beginning Prof. Akira Kurosaki – a world known person in the sphere of graphic arts in Japan presented in Bulgaria works by Japanese artists of different generations, members of the Japanese Association of Graphic Art that has a significant influence on the contemporary artistic life in Japan. The modern Japanese printmaking manifests the perfection of the image, achieved as a result of an unbroken seems to be permanent spiritual and national tradition. It is built in the character and vision of Japanese art for centuries. By using diverse techniques and means of expression the art reflects the energy of the creative spirit seeking new unexplored sites of human consciousness.
