On August 14th the Dobrich gallery opened an exposition of photos of Marieta Tsenova. The creator displays a selection of photos made for the purposes of the London magazine PerfrctDay – an on-line magazine for contemporary culture, architecture and design. Here is a piece of the introduction of Evelina Handzhieva at the opening of the exhibition: “Marieta Tsenova is a freelance art director, designer and photographer. She graduated Bulgarian philology and musical pedagogy and she also specialized History of art. At the end of 90s she was a creative director of magazines, modern editor and stylist of Egoist magazine. Previously she worked for the International Biennial of graphics in Varna. In the following years she enlarged her creative investigations taking the role of a creative director of magazines, a stylist for advertising campaigns, a designer of costumes for theatrical performances and movies, an author of book and musical albums covers. She teaches in “ modern tendencies of XX century” and “Styling for magazines”. In 2006 works of hers were awarded the prize of Jerwood Foundation and Portfolio Magazine.

“Because of her connection with “Egoist” she is called “a brilliant stylist”, “a legend”; She is the creator of the TV delivering “Saba of Evolution” dedicated to Bulgarian language. She is also a curator of the exhibitions “Black on White”, “Life Like in a Movie”, “Food Maps”, Placebo” etc. She has over 15 solo photo exhibitions in Bulgaria, Great Britain, Germany and Italy.

Years ago Marieta shared: “…I set my watch by these exhibitions. If  when realizing any project I I saw something beautiful I’m sure people will see it, too”. She believes that when only we support the talent of others we’ll make our life more meaningful and better.
